It will be a relaxed Weekend of Dance at Kingscliff, with socials on Friday and Saturday nights, and fun classes on Saturday (morning and afternoon) and Sunday morning. The classes are general standard and provide opportunities for everyone to join together.
Date
Friday 3rd–Sunday 5th June 2022
Teacher
Cairistiona Tait
I was brought up in a dancing family, which is not surprising considering my parents met at a SCD Social, only days after my father arrived in Melbourne! My brother and I were taken to socials as small children, growing up within the Melbourne and District Branch and looking at dancing as an extension of our family.
Originally I was more interested in Highland Dancing, only attending SCD functions as family events, however it was SCD, in the long run, that won me over.
I’ve been attending SCD functions for as long as I can remember and always having fun, which led to joining the Society as at 8 years of age. After several years of convincing I eventually attained my Full Certificate in 1996 which has led to teaching at various Branch classes and schools within Melbourne, interstate and in New Zealand.
I often joke that I only work to support my shoe and dancing additions, which would be funny if it wasn’t so true!
